Frequently Asked Questions

What does treatment at SAH cost?

SAH does not require patients to sign up and/or pay for a treatment plan in advance! Each patient is assessed on an individual basis and necessity for and timing of follow-up visits are determined based on patient progress. Because of this, most patients find that they spend far less in our office in comparison to other offices. We also offer massage packages that can make care even more affordable!

  • Massage therapy 30/60/90min session fees are $45/80/110 respectively. (Packages available)
  • Initial visit for Chiropractic or Acupuncture ranges from $115-140 and includes the consultation, exam and the first treatment. Follow-up Chiropractic and Acupuncture visits range from $55-80 depending on what treatments the patient needs.
  • Other Soft Tissue modalities are $25+.
  • New Injury/yearly exams are $40
  • School physicals are $25.

When can I be seen?

One of the many reasons to choose Solutions Alternative Healthcare is our incredibly convenient real-time availability and schedule available 24/7. Often times you can be seen same day. Call us or schedule online.

What is the difference between seeing my Medical Doctor vs. a Chiropractor?

For musculoskeletal conditions, the main tools of choice for a Medical Doctor are prescription drugs, possibly a referral to a physical therapist, and as a last resort, surgery. A Chiropractor's main tools for musculoskeletal conditions are mobilizing the spine, extremities and using other physical modalities such as soft tissue mobilization, stretching, manipulation of the fascia, exercises, Acupuncture, etc. in order to increase function and mobility while also decreasing pain. The choice between going to a Medical Doctor vs. a Chiropractor mostly depends on the patient's treatment preferences (a medical/surgical approach vs. a holistic approach).

Do you take my insurance?

As of January 1, 2019) we are in network only with Medicare Part B and only bill to Medicare and/or Medicare supplements (not to be confused with Medicare replacements), however; our rates are such that our care is affordable to most anyone regardless of insurance coverage. We used to take most private insurance, but when it began to affect our ability to do what’s best for our patients (for instance, not allowing us to treat the patient the same day as their initial exam), we opted out and almost all of our patients have chosen to stay with the practice.

Do you accept Auto Accident/Personal Injury Cases?

We are more than happy to treat patients with auto accident claims, however, payment will need to be made at the time(s) of service(s). We are happy to provide detailed billing for those claims in order to collect reimbursement/settlement through the auto insurance provider or through settlement with a lawyer. Although we cannot guarantee reimbursement, to date, we have not had issues with patients getting reimbursed we believe due to our conservative (cost-efficient to both the patient as well as the insurer) approach.

What is your cancellation policy?

Compared to industry standards, we have a very lenient cancellation/no show policy. We require only a 4 hour notice of change/cancellation. We understand that emergencies happen and often wave our $25 fee, however, we charge this nominal fee for "no show & no call" appointments as well as repeat last minute change/cancel patients/clients. Especially in the case of our massage therapists or new patient appointments, a large amount of the provider's time has been set aside specifically for that patient/client, so when we collect a cancellation fee, it goes directly to that provider for their time.

CHIROPRACTIC

I went to a Chiropractor before and wasn't impressed with my experience, why should I come to SAH?

Every doctor is different. Each have unique practice styles, technique choices, and equally different "bedside manners," or way of communicating with patients. Finding a doctor that you are comfortable with is an important decision to make. We strive to make your care very personal as well as educational.

Once I begin Chiropractic care, will I have to keep coming in?

After being treated for your complaint, chances are, you will choose to participate in what we call "maintenance care" to maintain your spinal health after you realize how great you feel after an adjustment! Only a small portion of the nervous system is involved with sensing pain, so it is important to get regular Chiropractic care to maintain proper mobility even if you are not experiencing symptoms.

I'm afraid Chiropractic can hurt and the "snaps" and "pops" make me uncomfortable.

Multiple types of adjusting techniques may be used including techniques that are low-force and no-force. Don't let a fear of Chiropractic "pops" and "snaps" prevent you from benefiting from the care of a Chiropractor. Talk to the doctor about any concerns you have so that she may utilize a treatment type that you are comfortable with!

Will I need to have an X-ray or other imaging?

It is always helpful to bring any recent reports and/or films you've had with you to your initial appointment. If imaging (or additional imaging) is recommended after consultation/examination for a patient, we use a local imaging center for X-ray, CT, or MRI. Studies at the imaging center are read by a Board Certified Radiologist providing additional peace of mind.

ACUPUNCTURE

Does Acupuncture hurt?

Acupuncture is mostly painless. The needles used are so tiny that many are not even felt when they are inserted. Some needles may be felt but it is usually quick (like a mosquito bite) and then painless either immediately or after just a few seconds.

Are the needles re-used?

NEVER! Modern Acupuncture uses sterile needles out of sealed packages for individual treatment use.

What conditions can be treated with Acupuncture?

Dr. Gonzalez is a Chiropractor licensed by the Texas Board of Chiropractic Examiners, therefore her scope of practice is limited to the musculoskeletal system. Examples of musculoskeletal conditions treated include neck pain, back pain, low back pain, many types of migraine/headaches caused by musculoskeletal issues, carpal tunnel syndrome, numbness/tingling in the arms/legs caused by musculoskeletal issues, arthritis, fibromyalgia, tennis elbow (lateral epicondylitis), golfer's elbow (medial epicondylitis), ankle sprain or strain, wrist sprain or strain, iliotibial band syndrome (I.T. band syndrome), shoulder pain, knee pain, thoracic outlet syndrome (T.O.S.), and many more. If you are unsure if you have a condition that we can treat, just ask! If you wish to use Acupuncture to treat an issue outside of their scope of practice, we are happy to refer you to a clinic that treats the condition in question.
